Masha, a native of Petrozavodsk, Russia, and Carter, a Charleston
native, both arrived in DC in June 2009. Though they were told about
one another long before meeting, it took by-chance mutual connections
between Washington and Moscow to introduce them for a night of dinner
and dancing in DC and the beginning of 75 years of togetherness.
They both work in the international development field, which takes
them to countries such as Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, and Pakistan. During
their free time, they hike the Shenandoah, play soccer, and enjoy
Washington’s museums and theaters.
They chose the McBee house at the perfect Charleston setting for their
‘Russian-American’ wedding, also as Carter’s kindergarten alma-mater!
